Mid-Hiatus Update || Where The Heck Have We Been!?

If there’s one thing we’re not good at, it’s consistency; we know, you don’t need to tell us...
That said, it’s very much so a problem we’re aware of and constantly working towards fixing. It’s been a fair couple of months since we last posted any content on our YouTube channel and even longer on our blog/website, while we do have some valid reasoning, that doesn’t change the fact that we should and can do better.

Over the last two months a lot has happened: the school year was ending (though we still have exams) so we were extremely busy, then Harmony went away on a week’s trip to Cyprus with our elder sister, and then we decided to make a huge business move - which we’ll elaborate on shortly - so a lot has been happening during the time we were away.

But, rather than justifying why we’ve been away yet again, this time we want to talk about how what we’ve been doing will hopefully mean that we can improve our consistency in future, which is where this ‘huge business move’ comes in.

In reality, rather than saying we’re making a business ‘move’ it’d be better if we said we’re starting a business! As we come closer and closer to our graduation we’ve been thinking a lot about what we want to do with our lives and honestly, fashion has been that answer for a long time. Originally we had hoped that by the time we graduate we’d make enough from our YouTube channel to at least pay rent for a small place, but considering our lack of consistency, we knew that would be a stretch. However, one thing we did always want to do much later in life was to start our own fashion brand.

However recently we realised something: why not do it now? Since changing university and living at home, our living costs have been significantly reduced and as a result we don’t need nearly all the money we’re given from student finance, so why not invest that? If we start up now, even if our customer base is small, we’d probably make a decent enough amount to tackle on of the biggest obstacles to our consistency: editing.

In all honesty, as much as we love recording YouTube videos and coming up with new ideas to share with you guys, we HATE editing! (The number of recorded videos you haven’t seen because we couldn’t edit them on time..) Honestly, no matter how much we love your reactions to our content, the fact that 4 hours of recording takes at LEAST 3 days to edit is enough to drain anyone’s enthusiasm. We’ve recently managed to hire someone to edit our videos, but the money we have at the moment is finite. We'ree hoping that with the income from this business we’ll be able to continually pay our new editor. This would essentially cut down the time we spend working on each video from 4 days to 1 - ie the recording day - and as a result we’ll be able to put out more content more often.

We know it might seem a bit counterproductive to take on a new, time demanding responsibility when organization and time management really isn’t our forte, but we’re hoping in the long run it’ll end up being the step we needed to take to do something we love and enable us to give you content that you love.

All the arrangements are already finished or coming to a closure, so we hope that you’ll continue to be patient with us. Once all our business related stuff is settled, we’ll obviously give you guys the first sneak peak into our brand (and of course some sort of discount code!) We can’t put a definite date on when we will start to post videos again but it'll definitely be within the month of May, and when we do, hopefully it’ll be the end of our very last YouTube hiatus.

In the meantime, we’re going to at least try to start up our blog/website again so you guys do have some sort of content and can stay posted on all our happenings - just so you know we’re not dead and we are coming back!
We're forever grateful for those of you who continue to love and support us, and we'll try to cut your wait short!
Love Hanzel & Harmony <3
