Welcome To The Haniverse #5 :: So Goodbye, Don't Cry & Smile

We were meant to post this on Wednesday, but seeing as it was April Fool's, it just didn't seem appropriate to post such a serious post on such a joyous day, so we waited until now so that everyone has fully recovered from the festivities. We do apologize that this post was late but it just seemed like the best option.

Recently a lot of our personal posts have been really down-beat and we've done our best to try and bring the mood up but lucky just doesn't seem to be on our side. A lot has happened in the last two weeks and some big changes have been decided, but long story short:

Unfortunately we will be leaving South Korea earlier than expected.

It was a sudden turn of events and it was completely out of our control, but all that's left is for us to make the most of the situation and the time we have left. Anyhow, we'll fill you in a bit more detail on that later on in the post, so for now let's just get the ball rolling...

:: Recent & Upcoming Uploads ::

Harmony: Starting on a positive, as many of you know we attended Seoul Fashion Week F/W 2015 in late March for 3 out of the 6 days~ This is our second time attending SFW (the first being last October) and yet again we were not disappointed!

Although we couldn't get our hands on a press pass to see any of the actual shows, we did have a lot of fun outside the main event. If you've checked on our Facebook Page then you would have seen the album of around 400 photos we uploaded from our 3 days at the event.

But that's not all! We also interviewed some of the fashionista (or 'pae-pi' as they're called in Korea) who attended the event and we're working on putting together a video for you guys letting you know some first hand opinions of the event from Koreans and foreigners, as well as what's trending amongst Korean youth. All those of you with an interest in Korean youth's street fashion should definitely look out for that.

Hanzel: While we were extremely busy with SFW, that doesn't mean that we left you guys hanging either. Back when I recorded our Q&A video, a lot of you asked about the current fashion trends in Korea, so I used to some of the pictures we'd taken at SFW as well as some of my everyday observations to put together a blog post, the first installment of our new 'Talking Trends' series: Korean Fashion Trends in Early 2015

This is actually a series we've been planning and thinking about for a long time, where we'll not only be sharing our knowledge of the latest trends such as, what they are and how to pull them off, but also a chance for us to share a little bit of our opinions on these trends too. Most of them will probably come in blog post form but there may be the occasional video for you guys to look forward too.

That's not all either, during our finals for this semester (which we aced ;P) Harmony also uploaded her very first haul video. In this video she talks about products from her two favourite road brands, Nature Republic & Etude House and since she recorded this video a little over a month ago, she also added in her after thoughts alongside her first impressions so you guys can see which products grow on her and which she came to dislike.

:: Personal & Medical Update ::

*sigh* As the introduction stated, a lot has happened in the last two weeks... As you all know, we haven't been in the best of health since late-2014/early-2015, and while we have made frequent trips to the hospital, been on medication and what-not-else, unfortunately our condition doesn't seem to be getting any better.

As a result of this (and some other circumstances) we had decided that it would be in our best interest to withdraw from our studies in Korea to return home for treatment and rest and prepare for the next school year (in which we will also be changing majors.)

Of course, this was by no means an easy decision to come to; we love our life in Korea, we love the atmosphere here and we've made many friends, we've gotten used to the way things are here and of course, there's still many things we have yet to do and experience. While it was inevitable that we would have to leave eventually, we never would have imagined that it would have been so soon and unexpectedly.

But nonetheless, here we are. While the date is not 100% set yet, we hope to be leaving as late as early May, but could inevitably end up leaving sooner. Because of our uncertain schedule it's hard to promise uploads and videos as we do want to make the most of our time left here as we possibly can, but even that won't be easy as the stress of having to have come to this decision is also taking its toll on our condition.

Anyway, we hope that you will all be understanding for the next 3/4 weeks and we will hopefully be back to full capacity, home in the UK, by mid-May. We will continue to self-study Korean and make Korean themed videos as we feel there is still a lot we can share with you even without us being in the country, but, yeah... (We're still sad to leave OTL)

:: Conclusion ::

We're not going to make this week's installment too long as it's hard for us to act cheerful and excited when we really and truly feel devastated, but we don't intend to let this get us down for long either. Look forward to news of our exciting and fun packed last few weeks(?) in Korea and our schedule for when we return. We'll do our best to keep you guys updated through our Facebook and Instagram.

Wish us luck guys~
